As the cost of food and essentials continues to rise and support programs continue to be cut, more and more responsibility for caring for those in need falls on communities and the organizations like Community Kitchen, who refuse to give up. In the summer months Community Kitchen adds additional programs for children, meaning extra food and transportation costs. Their spring fundraising effort is important to make that work. While they have traditionally been able to rely on federal/state funding to help with some of the costs of the Summer Food Service Program, this year there are potential interruptions to that governmental support. Please join us in making sure that children have lunches and Backpack Buddies bags this summer, that homebound seniors get home-delivered meals and that dinner is provided to anyone in need from all Community Kitchen locations.
